WIND 01
THE KNOTTED SKY
The morning after the great storm, every weather ribbon in
Bellweather was tangled around the tower.
Windmills stood still. Laundry hung like painted flags. Even the
clouds seemed to be holding their breath.
Sana looked up. "Winds aren't ours to keep," she said.

WIND 02
THE INDIGO AIRSHIP
Sana uncovered her little indigo airship. It had a cream crescent sail,
an amber-glass cabin, and a copper wheel with six spokes.
She packed no cage for the winds. She brought twelve empty ribbon
rings and one brass windmeter.
Then she untied the first knot.

WIND 03
ROOFTOP BREEZE
A pale blue ribbon slipped free and skipped over the roofs.
It wanted chimneys, weather vanes, and the narrow lanes between
houses.
Sana opened one ring. The rooftop breeze rushed out, ringing every
tiny bell below.

WIND 04
HARBOR WIND
The second wind smelled of salt and rope.
It pulled Sana's crescent sail toward the harbor, where boats waited
with their cloth wings folded.
She released the green ribbon, and the whole bay leaned forward.

WIND 05
ORCHARD CROSSWIND
The third wind would not fly straight. It darted sideways through the
orchard and shook rain from every leaf.
Sana turned the copper wheel instead of fighting it.
Her airship crossed the rows like a needle sewing silver thread.

WIND 06
CHIMNEY LIFT
Above the bakers' quarter, warm air rose in a golden spiral.
The fourth ribbon climbed it, and Sana climbed too.
"Up is also a direction home," she said as the wind slipped into the
high morning.

WIND 07
RAIN CURTAIN
The fifth wind hid behind a curtain of rain.
Sana lowered the crescent sail and listened to the drops drum on the
cabin roof.
When the rain softened, she opened the ring. The wind combed the
storm into long gray braids.

WIND 08
CANYON ECHO
The sixth ribbon called once. The canyon answered twice.
Sana followed the softer answer, banking between copper cliffs
without touching either wall.
She released the wind where its own voice came back warm and
round.

WIND 09
SNOWGLASS CURRENT
The seventh wind glittered with tiny ice crystals.
Sana wrapped her marigold scarf higher and kept the airship below
the white peaks.
The ribbon found a clear blue current and streamed north like a
shining road.

WIND 10
THUNDERHEAD GUST
The eighth wind tugged toward a black thunderhead.
Sana did not chase it. She landed on a safe plateau, folded the sail,
and waited while lightning stitched the far clouds.
When the storm moved on, the gust chose an open sky.

WIND 11
THE EYE OF CALM
Inside the ninth ring was no push at all.
The airship floated in a round room of quiet. Sana could hear the
windmeter tick and her own breath answer.
She opened the ring gently. Calm went everywhere without moving
an inch.

WIND 12
HOMEWARD WIND
Three ribbons remained: dawn rose, river silver, and deep-violet
night.
Sana released them together above Bellweather. They braided into
one homeward wind and carried the airship around the tower.
By sunset, the sky kept every color - and the tower kept none.
